FTP
Site Information
Citilabs maintains a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site
for users to download software updates and files of interest.
This site is also available for users to upload files
for Citilabs staff.
FTP Address The Citilabs FTP site can be reached
by using one of the popular Web browsers like the one
you are using to view this page. Click on one of the following
links or type one of the following address in your web
browser's location or URL field: ftp://www.citilabs.com/outgoing (for downloading)
ftp://www.citilabs.com/incoming (for uploading) The /ftp/incoming directory
is where users can upload files for Citilabs staff. Files
may not be deleted from this directory. If you are uploading a file
to the incoming directory, please use a program such as WinZip to
consolidate all data files and directories into a single file.
Anonymous FTP Downloading files is easily accomplished
using any popular Web browser or FTP software. Uploading
files to the /incoming directory requires that a user
to log into the Citilabs FTP site with "anonymous
ftp". This is the easiest kind of login but if you
have never done it before keep in mind that you will need
four pieces of information:
Site Name ftp.citilabs.com
Directory /pub
User name anonymous
Password your e-mail address
The directory entry is usually optional in most FTP software.
The "user name" and "password" are
sometimes filled in by the software for you. If this is
not the case, you must be sure to fill these entries in.
If you are behind a firewall, please consult your system
administrator on how to FTP through the firewall.
Some users may experience problems with uploading files
with long filenames. In that case, renaming them to 8.3
format may solve the problem.
FTP Software
Citilabs has received feed back from users that virtually
all browsers and software from internet providers (such
as America Online and Compuserve) have been able to download
files from this site. However, there have been problems
uploading files with both Netscape and Microsoft Internet
Explorer software. These problems arise from the fact
that users have not been able to set their user name and
password for anonymous ftp login. If you need to upload
files then we recommend that FTP software be used for
this task. Two good products are:
FTP Explorer
WS FTP
