Houston chooses Citilabs’ Cube |
Citilabs is very proud to announce that the Houston’s Metropolitan Planning Organization, HGAC, has chosen Citilabs to provide their Cube suite for the planning agency’s transportation planning and modeling needs. As one of the largest multi-jurisdictional planning agencies in the US, HGAC has developed a sophisticated multi-modal transportation network which supports the planning needs for 132 member agencies in and around the Houston, Texas area. «We have a large and diverse staff, and Cube gives us the tools to help manage and coordinate the work of many in-house planners and modelers, as well as that of several contractors», said Mr. Chris Van Slyke, Transportation program manager for HGAC’s Transportation division. «Cube gives us the tools we need to support all our users, to manage access and workflow, and to prepare and present information for the public.»
«Citilabs is supporting HGAC in their transition to the Cube family of software, by re-building their existing model directly in Cube», says Michael Clarke, President of Citilabs. «We are also excited about working with both the transportation and the GIS groups at HGAC. It is well known that HGAC is a leader in their use of GIS, both for analysis and to provide information to their constituents. It is a great opportunity to incorporate Cube with a world-class GIS.»
“We are looking forward to working with Citilabs”, says Ashby Johnson HGAC’s Deputy Director of Transportation. “Advanced capabilities from Cube enable us to provide better, more clear results for our Policy Council to use in making regional transportation decisions. “
HGAC has chosen Cube over other transportation planning solutions for many reasons, including the following keys:
A.) The Cube scripting environment provides a great deal of flexibility in developing our models;
B.) The Cube «Flow-Diagram» style graphic user interface provides an intuitive and highly productive environment for our modelers and planners.
C.) Cube offers a high degree of compatibility with HGAC’s corporate ESRI-based GIS
D.) Cube’s multi-user features allows HGAC to easily share data across a large user base, and configure the functions and security to meet the needs of a diverse user group
E.) Advanced functions in Cube allows greater productivity for individual user, especially in network editing and management, as well as in modeling Houston’s public transportation options.
